One windy spring morning, a little boy named Wei found a kite in his closet.
The kite was old and had a long tail. It was yellow and red, with a picture of a dragon on it.
"I want to fly my kite!" Wei said.
Wei ran to the park with his kite. He threw it up into the air, but the kite fell down.
He tried again. The kite fell down again.
Wei tried ten times, but the kite always fell down.
An old woman was sitting on a bench. She watched Wei for a while.
"You need to run with the wind," the old woman said. "Don't let the string get too tight."
Wei ran with the wind. He let out the string slowly. Up, up, up — the kite flew higher and higher!
The kite danced in the sky. It twisted and turned, but it did not fall.
"Thank you, grandma!" Wei shouted.
The old woman smiled. "The kite is not flying because you pulled it. It is flying because you let it go with the wind."
Wei learned something important:
Sometimes, letting go is the best way to move forward.
