One summer morning, Mia went to the beach with her family.
The sun was bright and warm. The waves were small and gentle. Mia loved the ocean very much.

She put on her sunglasses and walked along the shore. She found beautiful shells, shiny glass, and even a tiny crab!
Then, near a big rock, Mia saw something orange. It was a little starfish!
"Oh no!" Mia said. "The starfish is out of the water. It will dry out and die!"
Mia carefully picked up the little starfish. It felt cool and soft.
Her dad came over. "What did you find?" he asked.
"Someone needs our help," Mia said.
Together, they walked back into the water. Mia held the starfish gently and placed it in a shallow pool near the rock.
"There," Mia said softly. "Now you are safe."
The little starfish seemed to wave its arms — or maybe it was just the wave moving it.
"Thank you, Mia," her dad said. "You have a kind heart."
Mia smiled. She learned something important:
